This is definitely how I felt until I made my first friend in the LGBTQ community. She was a sophomore at the time, so I became very protective because I didn’t want her to ever feel like I had. We were in a small town in the South. That’s part of the reason I’ve started sharing my story. I was even more inspired and motivated to begin sharing after reading posts written by you.
