They have the money because they take up donations to pay us (the interns) as well as anyone else who pitches to write for their website. I won’t publicly name the site, but they post their donation goals and progress on the donation page. I personally don’t know any of the interns or anyone else that’s published with them.

I did sacrifice some of my writing on Medium for this internship. Last month, I did pretty good as far as consistency goes. However, this month, I put the internship first and that resulted in almost no paid posts on Medium as well as not being as active for Th–Ink Queerly.

However, as far as money goes — I recently got a nice part time job that just happened to fall in my lap. I started Tuesday and it’s been going great so far. My bills and such will definitely be paid on time as well as my puppies’ tummies will be full and satisfied.
