The One Thing All Kids Need
This can make or break a child’s future
We may not be rich. The college fund might not cover every dime needed. I can’t promise them they’ll have every new pair of Nikes or every new video game console. Our family dinners might not be extravagant every night. Sandwiches still cover almost all of the food groups. They probably won’t get a car for their 16th birthday.
The truth is: kids don’t need all of this stuff.
Recently there was an article about how to raise kids not to be “homosexual.” This waste of three minutes couldn’t have been further from the truth. Do you know what kids need to be raised not to be? Arrogant, selfish assholes that spew bigotry. Being gay or any part of the LGBTQ community isn’t a choice just like being straight and cis isn’t one. It just is. Instead of trying to raise kids to be whatever you think they should be, give them the one thing they need more than anything.
Kids need a home full of unconditional love.
They need a safe place where they never have to question if they’re loved and wanted no matter what race, gender, or sexuality.
The fact of the matter is, we don’t know what our kids will be when they get older. They might want to be a painter one day and a vet the next. When I was a kid, I changed my future…
