Mirror, Mirror (Poem)

Mirror mirror on the wall

Growing tired of your lies

You can’t see through my disguise

This isn’t me

Can’t you see?

The eyes looking back at me

Don’t belong to me

Caged bird beating at my rib cage

It just wants to be set free

Anxiety forms a tornado in a my chest

Ripping through everything and leaving me with a body of debris

If I could leave without causing any pain, I’d flee
