Love Isn’t Always Happiness

Is it worth the fight to you?

Love isn’t always laughter and smiles, even though we often wish it would be. Love can be arguments. Love can be disagreements that turn into that awkward silence where you know your next words could start World War 3.

Sometimes love is anger. Bottled up anger boils against the surface until it explodes. White-hot anger refuses to be contained.

It can be sadness. We try to force the tears back, but they demand to be freed. Sadness fills our whole body until we don’t know what to do with ourselves.

When love isn’t happiness at the moment, the worst thing someone can do is run away or try to sweep it under the rug. Nothing gets solved that way. If anything, it only makes it worse. It allows whatever the problem is to fester.

It’s like a wound. If you clean it and take proper care of it, it’ll heal in no time. If you ignore it and don’t clean it or do anything, it might get infected. It might cause; life-long damage.

It’s easy to stick around when everything’s good. What about when things are bad? What about when it’s storming and you can’t seem to find your way back to happiness? What about when the little disagreements have turned into a full-blown argument that you can’t seem to end? Then what?
