Intentions

A short prose poem

Photo by Joshua Fuller on Unsplash

Her intentions were drenched in collusion as she swiftly worked her way into my mind. Like a thief in the night, she cracked my ribcage as if it were a safe. Her words danced until she received the combination. Her fingers wrapped around my heart and removed it from my body as if it were a precious gem. She wanted it all to herself. Once my heart was safe in her possession, she made a hasty retreat — unbeknownst to me.

She was inspired by Catwoman.
