I didn’t see the trailer where people got the idea about glorifying abuse, but I watched the whole chapter where the abuse happens — and as one of the main characters, you have the choice to intervene. I watched Brad play that chapter because I didn’t have the game yet, and then today I played that chapter for myself.

In my opinion, I don’t think the game glorifies child abuse. I can’t say too much about it because I might spoil something. I do think it can be a triggering scene/topic though.

About the other topic you brought up- I did read some peoples’ opinions about how the black characters are handled and the game doesn’t accurately display how black men are treated in today’s society. I haven’t played far enough to confirm that, but I’ve seen bits. Since the game’s setting is in the future, I’m not sure if that should really be something to pick at.

I’m definitely enjoying the game so far. Maybe take a look at some gameplay and see how the first parts look to you if you’re up for that. Who knows it may interest you enough to pick it up on sale or something!

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. (:
