“Fake”

I see right through you

I couldn’t stay away
I laid awake
Stared at the ceiling
And just prayed
I can’t let this fade
Folks trying to invade
Playing games
Like your heart is an arcade
Throwing negative grenades
Over the fence
Trying to blow it all up
So I loaded up my pen
Let my words spray
Everybody online wears a mask
Like we’re at a masquerade

They “love” a display
It ain’t genuine
They’ll rip it away
And go astray
On a dime
As if you were never worth their time
If they can’t persuade
You to swing their way

A fake smile
On a bitter face
What’s with the facade?
Are you so unhappy
You just have to play
With peoples’ hearts
Make ’em just
Want to turn dark-
Ice cold
A bundred below
Bet you didn’t know
I work overtime
And more
To protect mine
