Can You Survive A Zombie Apocalypse?
State of Decay 2 drops you into zombie territory. Would you find a way to survive?
When I first saw a commercial for State of Decay 2, I thought it looked amazing. It wasn’t until the end of the commercial that I realized it would only be on Xbox and PC. At the time, I only had a Playstation 4. Last year, I bought a powerful gaming laptop so I could practice programming.
Recently, I discovered Microsoft’s Game Pass was also available on PC. I was frustrated that I didn’t have the money for an Xbox Series X or Playstation 5, so I decided to give it a try and see if my laptop was up to the task. State of Decay 2 was one of the first games I saw. I started the download immediately. Before I knew it, I was playing all day.
The main goal of the game is to build a sustainable community in the middle of plague zombie-infested lands. You start out with a couple of people and can slowly build your way up to over 8 community members, or you can keep it as small as you like. Some players like to keep their community to only a few people to make it more challenging.
This game is big on choices. You decide who stays in the community and who needs to be exiled. You build your base and decide what gets built and how best to fortify and defend it. Infirmaries…
