Brown Eyes

A poem

Brown eyes
Sweet as chocolate
Time flies
I get lost in them
You’re a gem

Diamond in the rough
Life made you tough
I hope you don’t call my bluff
Hope my love is enough

Brown eyes
Deep sienna
You became my oasis
Now I’m caught in a dilemma
Losing patience
You go back and forth in my mind as if it’s spacious
Making my heart tenacious

Brown eyes
When they look at me
I can’t hold my disguise
Flawed by design
The walls I built are compromised
But to my surprise
Those brown eyes
Welcome me inside
With nothing but love to supply
