As a fellow gamer, this breaks my heart. Who on Earth expects a young boy to wake up on time in the middle of a pandemic when he has nowhere to be?!
I can’t even wake up by myself and I’m 23 years old. I have to set an alarm and turn it up real high, and sometimes I still sleep through it. My grandmother woke me up every morning from the time I moved in with her through community college.
If someone would have deleted a save I spent a year on, I don’t know what I’d do. I can’t imagine the heartache that poor boy is going through. I know he wishes he would have never shown his dad his creation, and that’s just sad. He might not touch Minecraft ever again, because his father snatched the enjoyment out of it.
This is definitely something that will scar him for life. Even after the wound heals, he’ll still remember it. He didn’t hit him, but this probably felt like a punch to the gut.
I hope the son never stops being creative, and hopefully will continue to enjoy video games despite this horrible, over-the-top, so-called “punishment”.
Definitely an asshole move. Thank you for sharing.
