Another interesting thing Fortnite has done is propel a lot of up and coming YouTubers and Twitch streamers. Not only are people shelling out tons of money and spending countless hours trying to be the last person alive, they are also spending countless hours watching other people play Fortnite and spend money on skins. It has also blown up in the Esports world. The competition makes the game that much more addicting and increases its replayability.

I’ve played Fortnite a little bit. I walked away before I had a chance to get addicted. However, when I did play it — I was heavily tempted to purchase a starter pack or some V–Bucks. I still watch others play it, and they don’t seem to regret purchasing skins and other cosmetic accessories. They’re genuinely having fun, and I don’t see a problem dropping a couple of dollars in a free game. It shows support to the developers, and can also be a token of appreciation.
